Graham Recieves Approval For The Largest Project In The Charlotte Region

January 31, 2007 - Charlotte Real Estate Investor Mel Graham received overwhelming support and unanimous approval by Chester County officials for the rezoning of his massive 6,000 acre mixed use master plan known as "Montrose".

"I could not be more pleased with the support that the great folks of Chester County have given me for 'Montrose'." Graham said.

With most of the rezoning behind us, we now intend to focus more on getting utilities to the site. Another major focus is to get the interchange in the middle of the project on Interstate 77 completed. The bridge crossing over the interstate has already been constructed. "We only need the connecting ramps to have a completed full interchange to serve Montrose." Graham stated. "This is very important to move the project forward faster, and to attract large commercial users that will provide jobs."

Graham made these comments to the annual Chester County Chamber of Commerce banquet where he was the Keynote speaker. Graham went on to say that he was convinced growth would come to Montrose because of the ease of access and very close proximity to Charlotte, the airport, and four other major interstates to the north and south of his project.

Graham also made it clear at his presentation that while he is very optimistic about Charlotte's continued growth south on the I-77 corridor, that the plans for Montrose are a 25 year master plan. "Progress will come but not overnight. It will take a lot of work and I need your continued support." Graham stated.

Once built out, Montrose can exceed two billion dollars of additional tax base for the area by conservative estimates. Graham adds that over a period of time during the life of this project, he believes that estimate could double to over $4.0 billon.
